Słupca, 11 Henryka Sienkiewicza Street

A true gem among Słupca's historic monuments – the wooden, shingle-roofed Church of St. Leonard – Sanctuary of the Holy Cross. It was erected on a foundation of stone and brick in log construction. Inside this beautiful temple, the walls of the main nave, presbytery, and ceilings are particularly impressive. They are covered with rich polychrome decoration from 1631 and from the first half of the 18th century. Furthermore, in this sacred building, visitors can admire: a Gothic painting from 1460 depicting St. Leonard, a stone baptismal font from 1521, and in the side altar, a crucifix from 1500, considered miraculous, which attracts pilgrims.
