FORMER PARTITION BORDER STRZAŁKOWO-SŁUPCA
Słupca, 26 Łężecka Street
The former partition border is a special place for our region. An initiative by the City of Słupca, the Strzałkowo Commune, and the District Office led to a project aimed at creating a permanent exhibition documenting the existence of a prisoner-of-war camp, a camp cemetery, and the border itself. A 27-ton obelisk stands there, inscribed with: "On the 90th anniversary of regaining independence, in memory of the abolition of the partition borders." Next to this monument, guard booths have been erected – display cases containing information about Słupca, Słupca County, Strzałkowo Commune, as well as the WWI prisoner-of-war camp and the Orthodox cemetery.
